The Quiet One – Secrets in the Garage

Part 2:

The rest of the day was a blur of whispered rumors and awestruck stares. Elara moved through the academy halls with her usual quiet grace, ignoring the sudden parted seas of students and the desperate attempts at conversation from those who had ignored her just yesterday. The boy from the silver sedan, whose name she later learned was Liam, spent the entire day avoiding her gaze, his face a permanent shade of crimson.

When the final bell rang, Elara returned to the magnificent red Ferrari, its presence still a shock to the system of the usually subdued academy parking lot. She slipped behind the wheel, the roar of the engine silencing the murmurs of the gathered crowd once more. She drove off, not towards the quiet historic district, but deeper into the city, towards the sprawling estate hidden behind high, iron gates.

That evening, as she stood again in the vast, subterranean garage, Elara didn’t look at the sleek supercars. It was massive, blocky, and completely at odds with the aerodynamic perfection of the rest of the garage.

Elara approached the tarp, her hand hesitating over the thick canvas. “I told myself I wouldn’t need this,” she whispered, her voice barely a breath. “Not until I found them.”

With a swift, decisive pull, she threw the tarp back. Beneath it wasn’t another supercar, but a heavy-duty, military-grade armored vehicle, its matte black surface scarred with unmistakable signs of past conflicts. A chilling silence filled the space, the roaring engine of the Ferrari forgotten.

Elara traced a hand over a jagged scorch mark on the side panel. The academy, the arrogant boys, the shiny cars—it was all just a distraction, a carefully constructed facade. The real reason she was here, the real legacy of her family, was far more dangerous, and the game she was playing was about to get much, much deadlier.
